A Study on Bliss

A collaboration leading up to a performance at Jazz Club's party — an Amsterdam-based collective. Shot on film in a dark dance studio, this project came to life from a spontaneous idea to document movement research in process.

"This research of a new work, still very much in process, delves into a fascination with the idea of mundanity. Through exploration of the sacred body, seance, time and space, and looking at the meeting point in which we commune with the mundane, we find ourselves in a sanctuary where the mundane becomes a necessary staple of an endearingly absurd, and intimate story. The story of a single body begins to unfold in space before you."

NiKKO became a wallflower ... a witness ... documenting formations of shape and following the light, playing with long exposures and double exposures to accentuate movement. Intentional. Intuitive. Bliss.
