A solo performance work exploring the sacred within the everyday
Communing with the Mundane is a solo performance work that investigates the sacred within the everyday — the rituals, textures, and quiet ceremonies that structure a life. Premiered in October 2025 at De Dijk Theater, Amsterdam.
The work draws on personal mythology, domestic gesture, and the body as archive. It asks: what does it mean to be fully present within the ordinary? To find the extraordinary not in the exceptional, but in the repeated, the overlooked, the mundane?
This is the first full-length sound score composed by Siena, woven from field recordings gathered across homes in Amsterdam and Essex/France, alongside original music by family and collaborators.

Sound Score
The sound score for Communing with the Mundane is the first full-length score composed by Siena. It is an earthly seance — a sacred melody of the dreams of mundane.
Using an amalgamation of field recordings from our home in Amsterdam, the Essex home and nature surrounding it in France, as well as tracks created by my Aunt and Uncle also based in France — we created the score in collaboration with mother earth. It's an earthly seance, woven together by nature's children, a sacred melody of the dreams of mundane.
